The Galway Hospitality Ball 2017 to host a glittering black tie gala Thursday 23rd February at The Galway Bay Hotel in aid of Radiothon 2017
The Irish Hotels Federation (IHF) Galway branch in association with the Galway branches of the Restaurant Association of Ireland, Vintners Federation and SKAL International will host the Galway City and County Hospitality Ball 2016 on Thursday the 23rd February at The Galway Bay Hotel. Following the success of last year’s glittering social get together, the hospitality ball is now an annual event on Galway’s social calendar. The Black Tie event will be hosted by Galway Bay FM’s Keith Finnegan, MC for the evening, with a warm welcome for this year’s honorary guest speaker Connacht Rugby Head Coach Pat Lam.
Radiothon 2017, a charity fundraising collaboration between Galway Bay FM, Galway Hospice foundation and Cancer Care West will benefit from this year’s ball. Radiothon 2017 will broadcast on Galway Bay FM on April 8th and 9th from An Taibhdhearc and tell the stories of those who have journeyed through cancer or who are currently going through treatment.
The ball is sure to be a wonderful evening with all of Galway’s top players in the hospitality industry from hotels to bars to restaurants invited to let their hair down and enjoy a night to celebrate all things hospitality. A champagne reception will take place at 7pm with delectable cocktails and canapés crafted with care by The Galway Bay Hotel’s expert bar staff and award winning head chef, followed by a sumptuous 5 course meal. After dinner, guests can dance the night away to live music by The Good Hustle band. Tickets for the event can be purchased for €50 per person or €450 for a table of 10.
The Irish Hotels Federation look forward to welcoming you all at the Galway Hospitality Ball 2017 for what promises to be an unforgettable night of dinner and dancing in support of the very deserving Radiothon 2017. The aim of Radiothon is to raise awareness about cancer and to raise money for two leading cancer charities in Galway. The generosity of the people of Galway over the last two years has raised a significant sum for the charities involved. Keith Finnegan, CEO and Director of Galway Bay FM said: "Radiothon is one of the best initiatives we have ever embarked on in Galway Bay FM. It draws all of the staff from the station and the charities together and the energy this creates comes across on air on the 7th and 8th of April."
“The hospitality sector in Galway from hotels, to restaurants, pubs, travel and tourism have experienced a very strong 2016 with key indicators showing a prosperous season ahead and advance bookings are showing further growth in the sector for 2017,” says Rory Fitzpatrick, President of the Galway IHF branch and general manager of the Clayton Hotel, “while we’re having a little down this February, it’s a great opportunity for the industry to celebrate and reward itself with a good night out in the form of the black tie hospitality ball where we can all meet and have a night off.”
