Dublin Looks Forward to Welcoming Tens of Thousands of EURO 2020 Fans, Says IHF

The Irish Hotels Federation (IHF) welcomes the decision by UEFA today that Dublin is to play host to four games in Euro 2020, stating it is a major coup for Ireland and the country’s tourism industry. The IHF states that the games will attract tens of thousands of overseas visitors to the capital, providing a substantial economic boost for local businesses including hotels and guesthouses.

Stephen McNally, President of the IHF says that tourism businesses look forward to helping the tournament celebrate its 60th anniversary by creating a truly memorable and welcoming party atmosphere for all those who visit Ireland during the games.

“This is a fantastic endorsement of Ireland’s ability to host major sporting events,” says Mr McNally. “As the third biggest sporting event in the World, the championship attracts phenomenal interest among fans and spectators as well as extensive media coverage, providing Ireland with a great opportunity to shine on the world stage.”
